Transcript: Ron Takes On: MIPS

This is Ron Beshear, and today Ron takes on MIP’s. Now every, everybody’s heard about VIP’s—
Very Important People. But I’d like today to talk about Most Important People.

Over the last few years, I’ve come to the conclusion that people in your life who have made key introductions are Most Important People. Those would be people who have introduced you to your faith, your mate, or your calling. Now, sometimes there’s other things that, particularly charitable or volunteer things or amazing things, you’re so glad someone took the time to introduce you to.

But when I look at my own life, you know, I give my parents credit, just great people for introducing me and helping me develop my faith.

There are five people who were key in helping me develop who I am. Those were definitely Most Important People because they introduced me to my calling and all along the way, they took the time to invest in me, to help me reach my full potential. A lot of people would say, I definitely haven’t reached my full potential, but at least I’m on the journey. And then one of my fraternity brothers took the time to introduce me to my wife of 46 years, Mary, who I met about 48 years ago. Thank you. Thank you Johnny, for doing that. Cincinnati is unbelievable in my mind, in how much people give, share, volunteer.

And so that last item, whether it involves athletics or the arts or something in school or academic, where you’ve been introduced to something that you’re so invested in, that person deserves a big thank you.

So my point is, think about who has made those key introductions for you. Make key introductions for others and be sure there’s a reciprocal thank you going on. If you like what I’m talking about today, give us a thumbs up. If you have some feedback, please put it in the comment section. We’ve been posting lots of new things on ServingYourPurpose.com.
